Locked in a scientific base or flying airship with your friends or complete strangers and no place to run? What could go wrong? Oh yeah, and some of them could be out to get you, so... no change there. In each game, you can be either an Impostor (with the goal to kill everyone or sabotage the place into the oblivion) or Crewmate (with the goal to finish all your tasks and stop the sabotages). Sounds quite simple, because it is that simple. Of course, there are some details to it, but overall that is the whole game - if you are the Impostor, do whatever you can to sabotage the efforts of Crewmates or kill them all.

Among Us blew up on the social media in 2020 with not very original idea (the concept of the social deduction games is older than you might think), but with the help of online multiplayer technology and partly the 2020 pandemic, the game became an instant hit. The simplicity of the gameplay, the simplicity of the interface and the chance to be on one side or the other made this game not only playable, but could also be enjoyed by spectators. Of course, the weak point of the project was that it required few people to even consider playing (4 at the very least) and not everyone had enough friends to play with. The online nature of Among Us made it easier to find a group to join, but still the game worked best with the players you know, not complete strangers.

Among Us is not a detective game per se, but the social deduction aspect of the game and the fact that you can either search for the killer or be the killer and try to act innocent made it a very interesting piece of entertainment.
