The victim’s car, a beat-up Holden Commodore, was found parked in the street, outside the building. Inside, apart from numerous empty chocolate bar wrappings and potato chip packages, a police technician found a piece of paper with part of it torn away. The part that was found contained just one line: "50,000 dollars". The fingerprints on the paper belonged to the victim.

The bank statement for the victim’s account show that he was 252 dollars overdraft, the bank sent this as a reminder that he is required to cover that sum within 30 days, and otherwise legal action will be taken.
